Awesome once again! Happy hour is an incredible value. Best Ramen around & always great service.
Such a cute place and clean also. There's an upstairs area (3 floors) but we didn't go. The tonkatsu ramen was amazing and we also ordered the salmon poke and tuna poke with the spicy chili oil on the side.
I had dinner with a friend, the food was delicious , well balanced beyond expectations! highly recommend. The service was excellent our server was very friendly and patient about our food questions , the drinks were great , very beautiful presentation . We had and awesome experience . Definitely we will be coming back.
This is a go-to spot to visit with my mom who lives in the area. She comes here often, and some of the staff even recognize her :) Her tip is to go early to avoid crowds, and seat yourself at the bar in the back, rather than waiting for a table. They have excellent cocktails. We usually order their pickle appetizer. And we've had their ramen and donburi main dishes - both are excellent. Because they're so busy, at times the wait for food can be long and they're fairly unapologetic about that. But it's delicious and their happy hour pricing (2:30-4:30pm) especially is worth it.
Made reservations for a Saturday lunch. We were seated immediately. I liked the decor and vibe of the restaurant (especially the fun fusion art on the walls). We ordered the Tsukemono appetizer to start as well as the Hitodama and Where's my Tie cocktails. We really enjoyed the assorted pickled veggies. The kimchi was our favorite. For our mains we ordered the shoyu and shiitake miso ramen. The shoyu ramen was flavorful and the noodles were tasty. Unfortunately the broth for the shiitake miso ramen needed to be developed more. I couldn't really taste the shiitake or miso. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would like to come back to try their other offerings.
We stayed at an airbnb in the area so we stopped by here because of the good reviews. The vibe inside was great, I loved the Japanese inspired decor and the relaxed atmosphere created by the wooden walls and picture frames was great. Me and my sister ordered the spicy tantanmen, it was delicious but the bowl was smaller than I thought for the price point. But I'm not too surprised. Solid 9/10. We also got the chicken karaage which was a solid 8/10. We also ordered a drink called the hitodama, really packed a punch and it was so pretty! Would recommend it!
How good can vegan ramen be? Awesome! Everything is made with care, all the food is presented beautifully, and the vegan ramen is delicious. Dare I say "mouth-watering"! Well, I did get the dish with spicy tofu. Yum... And the place is beautiful and the staff is super friendly.
Love this place! The food is amazing. Best vegan ramen I've ever had and the pickle plate chefs kiss. I did think about giving 4 stars bc the service is never great. It's never terrible either but it's lacking and slow at times, probably bc they are always very busy and they know their food will keep everyone coming back. The ambience is very nice and modern. They did have some thing going on with the ceiling last night but I'm pretty sure they're just re-doing it. They have an outdoor patio that's small but very cozy with heaters when it gets cold. It's in downtown Sebastopol which I love, I just love everything about Sebastopol and always look for a reason to go there. Obviously, I very much recommend this place especially if you're vegan or vegetarian and if you love pickle plates .
Ramen Gaijin never disappoints! In my opinion, definitely the best ramen in Sonoma County. I've had really good ramen (I grew up in LA), and this is up there! The ambiance is nice. They get super busy so I recommend getting a reservation. Price has gone up quite a bit... $23 for a bowl of ramen now, which is a little more than I would normally pay, but nevertheless, it's still good ramen! I get the same ramen dish every time- the spicy tan tan. It's made out of pork broth that is and it's delicious! It's very rich and flavorful, and I wouldn't say that it's super spicy. I like how it includes a real good cut of pork belly (not too fatty) and ground pork. The noodles is a nice texture also. I like how they have the roasted cabbage, it adds a nice touch to the ramen. And can't forget the 6 minute egg, cooked perfectly! Their karage chicken is also a must if you are looking for an appetizer. Batter is just right and crispy, and I like how there are some greens and miso ranch to dip it in. I recommend the hitodama drink! If you have someone to share it with, get the one for 2. It comes in a huge bowl with a flame in the middle. It's a beautiful drink, with some flowers on top. If you like rum and gin, and fruity/ floral drinks, this is the drink for you!
